I make money from mobile apps on my smart phone, even though it’s just a little bit of extra fun money, but I bet you can turn some of these apps into a real part-time gig. Below are some of my favorite apps for side hustling. Two of them I haven’t personally used ( I love looking at photographer’s photos, and Thredup) but they are interesting concepts, so I decided to include them.
Make money with mobile apps
Do you love taking photos and are particularly good at it? Sell your photos on Twenty20. There are 100,000s photographers on this app. You can post about anything from food to fitness to fashion. Bloggers to brands are looking on this app to buy your photos.
Download the Swagbucks app. Watch videos and earn points towards a gift card. You can get there fast, too. I started two weeks ago, and I already redeemed my points for a $25 Paypal gift card. There are a variety of gift cards to choose from like ones for restaurants, grocery stores, and Amazon.com.
Depop is an app where you can sell your used clothing straight from your phone. It’s kind of like Poshmark, but I love the community more on this app. As soon as you sign up you start to get followers. Be sure to take great photos (even modeling them!) and keep up relationships with your buyers. They leave reviews and more often than not come back to buy more. There is a market for shopping other people’s closets.
Thredup is an app similar to Depop, but their approach to buying and selling used clothing is different. Order a free Clean Out Kit and send it back to the company with your used goods. The plus is you don’t have to spend time promoting your stuff or trying to get the perfect shot of your used motorcycle jacket. Payouts are via Paypal.
Receipt Hog is an app I just recently downloaded. The concept is simple: take pictures of your receipts, earn coins, and redeem them for cash or gift cards. Receipt Hog wants receipts from stores that mostly sell food, health, or beauty products. I’ve used it for a week and made 100 coins. Ten thousand coins equal a $5 Amazon gift card.I’ll update you when I start seeing more results!
Do you like taking surveys? Try the InboxDollars app. They also offer videos to watch just like Swagbucks!
Perk Tv- Earn points towards a gift card of your choice. I don’t use this app as much as Swagbucks because it’s so much faster to earn on there than Perk. I leave the videos playing on my Ipad for a few hours each day.
Do you make money from mobile apps on your smart phone? It’s probably my easiest way to get a gift card or an extra $20 every once a while.
Diana, these sound like they might be good for stay at home mom’s and people who are unable to work at a full time job.
I will definitely be downloading some of these apps. Those gift cards will start to add up and save you money.
Thanks, Tanashia! I was a little skeptical at first, but it’s worth it. Even if you only dedicate an hour and half each day it does start to add up! It’s a pretty satisfying feeling taking your first gift card to the mall. 🙂
I already have a few of these but I rarely use them. I need to get more intentional and make some cash! Thanks!
Thanks Tomika! It’s all about intention and doing it with purpose.
I always thought that these things were a scam (especially Swagbucks) but now I’m seriously considering it. The only problem I have is that some of these don’t work outside the USA unfortunately. But I’m sure I could find some alternatives 🙂
This was very informative and I’m excited to try some things out!
Thank you for the sweet comment. When I first started trying to make money online there were a lot of scams I almost fell victim to! I only use a couple of sites I trust.
I have tried Receipt Hog and hear a lot of people using it. However, I started to get nervous with it for some UNKNOWN reason!
I haven’t heard of PerkTV app paying you. I’m going to have to look into it. I love tips like these. I’m glad you visited my blog so I could see this post.
I just ordered my first PerkTV gift reward for one dollar- LOL! Although it works, I much prefer swagbucks to this app.
